It is a very nice feeling that somebody is willing to go to bat for us on this matter. The silence from RAC officials has been pretty deafening!

If RAC has actually sent out a memo to IC, then that memo should have been circulated publically via a RAC Bulletin so all Canadian amateurs could see the steps RAC has taken. I for one do not wish to see this issue swept under a carpet, and only mentioned in a copy of the TCA, two or three months from now.

IC must be swiftly brought to task over this incursion, and I very much doubt that RAC has the “intestinal fortitude” to do this under it’s current leadership. This must change, either internally, or externally.

I agree with the anonymous poster, the sudden appearance of the RAC president on your blog, so soon after you posted the information speaks volumes to me. Where was he when questions were being asked????? I still have not had a response from either Geoff or Norm regarding my inquiry into this issue. Their silence speaks in a very loud voice about the lack of transparency in that organization.Blogmasterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03610958641060401956noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784794585769956571.post-16119110044171701172010-09-30T09:56:47.858-04:002010-09-30T09:56:47.858-04:00I've posted my comments at www.ve3hg.wordpress...I've posted my comments at www.ve3hg.wordpress.com on this and other RAC issues. - 73 Peter VE3HGVE3HGhttp://www.ve3hg.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784794585769956571.post-33144472165463526002010-09-30T07:35:26.564-04:002010-09-30T07:35:26.564-04:00I find it extremely interesting that now Bob, VE3M...I find it extremely interesting that now Bob, VE3MPG has made this issue public on his blog, that he finally gets a response from the president of RAC.

As RAC would not share the original memo from IC with Bob, why would we even begin to believe that RAC will share IC's response to their letter of complaint with the members?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784794585769956571.post-23337183697604344642010-09-30T06:55:27.487-04:002010-09-30T06:55:27.487-04:00Good morning Bob, thanks for bringing this issue f...Good morning Bob, thanks for bringing this issue forward. I am not a member of RAC, I was but felt I was paying due's that were not doing to much. I was not aware of this matter until reading in your blog. I was appalled with RAC's communication back and forth with you. I believe Industry Canada can look on this misuse of the amateur radio spectrum in the future, spin it to their advantage. I find government will partake in a risky en-devour not give a reasonable time line for input. Go forward and do it, once done promote it from there on in as "normal"VE9KK https://www.blogger.com/profile/04720839744779758420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5784794585769956571.post-16070885912993841922010-09-30T01:14:24.644-04:002010-09-30T01:14:24.644-04:00Hello Bob

The action taken by IC was without prior consultation and without notice and should not be acceptable to amateurs and is not acceptable to RAC. We will share ICs response when we receive it.

Geoff Bawden
VE4BAW
President and Chair RACGeoff Bawden VE4BAWnoreply@blogger.com
